CSTV Webcasting NCPA Collegiate Nationals

Collegiate Paintball

The NCPA's Collegiate Nationals presented by X-Box were held in Disney's Wide World of Sports complex the weekend before this year's PSP Orlando Open, and we all knew that College Sports TV was there filming for eventual distribution.  Chris Raehl of the NCPA contacted me via email today and asked me to take a look at the video that's on CSTV's website and tell him what I think.  Mr. Raehl is getting the bonus plan--not only am I going to tell him what I think, but I'll let you know too!

The hosts for this show were Greg Amsinger and Bea Youngs.  As the video wore on, it was obvious that Mr. Amsinger knew almost nothing about the sport, but with Co-Host Bea Youngs looking and sounding her usual amazing self, Amsinger had a competent teacher and attractive co-host.  In one segment of the show, Youngs and Amsinger showed viewers the various parts of a tournament player's outfit and he appeared to be learning and having fun at the same time.

The camera work was nothing short of absolutely amazing.  The camera crew did an admirable job of capturing the essence of the action, and made the games exciting to watch, something that's been lacking in more recent efforts at capturing this sport.  With the host's obvious excitement and competent play-by-play commentary, the presentation had the feel of a much more mainstream sport, rather than the small (for now) viewership that college paintball has.

CSTV has been releasing teaser videos for some time, and now they have a full 24 minute segment up on their site to check out, showing the match between UF Gators and the Maryland Terps.  Assuming the quality of the video keeps to this high level, look out for CSTV, NCPA and the College Teams to get some much-deserved attention for what they're doing in the future.  Check it out HERE and let Chris and the guys at the NCPA know what you think!
