Runnin' Wild, Authority, Nobodies Win The 2005 CFOA

CFOA Am Team Runnin' Wild
The CFOA, presented by National Paintball Supply, crowned their 2005 title winners at the final event of the season, the Queen City Masters, hosted by Paintball Central Sports Park South.  In addition to the thousands in cash and prizes awarded to the teams winning and placing in the event, the league's massive prize package including 324 cases (3 skids) of Empire Fuel paintballs, three paid entry fees to the World Cup, Shocktech Shockers, Planet Eclipse Egos, Smart Parts Shockers, ICD Promasters, Chipley SS-25's, 25 VForce PROfilers, Powerlyte barrels, hundreds of dollars from Custom Products and ten Crossfire 68/4500 air systems were unloaded from two trucks and divided amongst the season's podium finishers.

Winning their fourth amateur event of the season at the Queen City Masters clenched the 2005 series title for Runnin' Wild, a team put together by Steve Wyatt at Carolina Paintball Park for that express purpose.  Chasing them all season, Gridlock Red finished their amateur season in second place overall in the amateur division, ahead of Atlanta's Fat City.  Along their way to the 2005 CFOA amateur series title, Runnin' Wild won an impressive four CFOA events.

CFOA Rookie Team Nobodys
In the novice division, making the semifinals at the Queen City Masters with second place team Anger Management heading home early clinched the 2005 novice division title for Authority, who went on to win the Queen City Masters anyway, adding an unheard-of fifth consecutive CFOA victory to their list of accomplishments for the season.  Behind Authority for the season were another Gridlock squad, then Anger Management.

The 2005 CFOA Redz rookie division was a battleground, with the division champions, the Nobodies, winning only two of the season's eight events.  The Zero Kidz took second for the season on the field, when they were forced to play a single, sudden death game against team Panic for second and third overall.  The Zero Kidz overcame a two-on-three on the field to win the game and send Panic into third overall for the season.  This single, sudden death game to decide a tie for the season podium was only the third of its kind in the league's history, and the first ever played in the rookie division.
