SCXL Event Coverage

There was a layer of fog hovering just over the field while the crew put the finishing touches in blowing the bunkers up. Then as the games began it was clear that paintball had defeated this foggy enemy as the light shined more and more. This was the So Cal Xball League, nicknamed the SCXL, a new 3-man Xball event that I checked out on Saturday.

Overall it was an awesome event. There where some great moves, a little controversy, and some penalties enforced, I loved it. This had been one of my first experiences with seeing Xball in person and I have to say I like this format more and more every time I see it. Aaron Karsh, the event coordinator, was able to keep everything organized and on-time all day. Any penalties or problems where enforced quickly and easily, especially because of some of the great reffing that I saw there. It didn’t seem like there where quite as many teams there as would have been expected but they still had plenty of games going on all day.

It was an excellent tournament, which would be great for any teams wanting to participate in the Xball experience without jumping into something as big as the PSP. For more information on the SCXL you can visit their website at http://socalxballleague.8k.com/. I hope to be seeing more of this series and maybe even participating in it myself at one of the next events.
